A special 10-week closed session Grief Support Group starts Monday, September 12, 2022 and runs for 10 consecutive Mondays 6:30pm – 8:30 p.m. to support those dealing with the loss of loved ones due to suicide. This specialized support group is limited to 15 participants (at least 10) and an initial in person intake meeting is required for registration. The meetings will take place at St. Albert the Great parish, 6667 Wallings Road, North Royalton OH 44133, Hall A – Lower level of church. Queen of Heaven Parish is hosting a cluster parish pilgrimage to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, Ohio, on Monday, August 22, in honor of our patronal feast day of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The cost of the trip is $25.00 per person which includes transportation to the shrine (Barons Bus), Mass, lunch, time for group and private devotion, and time at the shrine gift shop. The Ozanam Center in Akron located at the Visitation of Mary Church, 93 Kent Street, Akron, OH 44305, serves the people of our area with food and clothing. The center is a volunteer only based ministry. The center is only open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays except for holidays (volunteers come a half hour early). We are looking for more volunteers to help with distribution, especially sorting clothing and bringing it to the clothing room for people to pick. This event is free to all Queen of Heaven high school and junior high school students. Those who have worked a fish fry dinner or will work the upcoming parish Fun Days may also bring a friend/family member for $27.50. All other teens, friends and family members are $55.00.
