The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a “cluster parish ministry” in which parishioners from Nativity of the Lord, Queen of Heaven, St. Francis de Sales and St. Paul parishes come together to pray, share information and stories of the ministry as well as tips and tricks of crocheting or knitting. The shawls brought in are blessed (usually by Deacon Smith) and we end with a prayer remembering those who have received or need to receive a shawl. Our shawls are an outward sign of love and caring --- a hug --- to anyone who needs one. We just celebrated our 10
th Anniversary as a ministry and have reached the 3,000-shawl benchmark after ten years.
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday each month, 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Church, all year-round. New members are always welcome. For more information, please contact Ginny Smith, 330-644-4132 or [email protected]; or Barb Zimmerman, 330-699-4769 or [email protected]
The Prayer Shawl Ministry’s next meeting is Tuesday, July 9th, 10:00 AM at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Church. Please remember to bring your completed shawls for blessing, your current shawl to work on and any left- over yarn to share with others as we celebrate God’s love and blessings.
