Queen of Heaven Gift Shop is open after all Weekend Masses (Saturday, 5:30 p.m., Sundays 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.) and after select special events.
It is located in the Gathering Space (Narthax) in the back of the church. If you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer in the gift shop after any weekend Mass, please contact the parish office at 330.896.2345.
What began as Pastor David R. Durkee’s idea to create a new and used book store and a free lending library for spiritual reading, has turned into a multipurpose religious gift shop. From a book shop, the scope expanded into a way to recycle beautiful religious articles. Individuals, who have been gifted an overabundance of religious items or no longer have a need or desire to keep them, have donated them. Donated items includes: religious art, figurines, crucifixes, books, planters, candles and rosaries. New inventory includes: nativity sets and advent calendars (in stock during the past Christmas season), religious jewelry, saint statues, bibles, saint and other spiritual books, as well as gifts for the sacraments of baptism, first communion, confirmation, and marriage.
Reverend Durkee’s enthusiasm for the gift shop has expanded it into a card shop too, with a multitude of greeting cards for all occasions. The 10’ x 17’ gift shop, doubles that of a prior gift shop and was opened to begin the 2010 Christmas season. It is managed by Jo Kula, and is located in the northeast corner of the Church’s gathering space. Hours of operation are after weekend Masses and open by request during the work-week hours. Gift certificates are purchasable at the gift shop. Any profit realized from the shop will be used to purchase new inventory and support the youth ministry. For further information, call 330.896.2345.
