Couple to Couple League for fertility planning offers online training in English or Spanish. They offer online classes with instructor follow up, or pace yourself modules that have been well received. Young adults are encouraged to look into the classes even prior to marriage preparation. The Meals Ministry was created to serve the members of Queen of Heaven Parish through the Corporal Works of Mercy by caring for those in need during times of life changes, including birth of babies, illness, death or other life events by providing meals for them and their family members. Blessings in a Backpack continues to provide the children in Green Local Schools with meals every weekend. Donations are always appreciated and useful. We can always use hearty soups, canned pasta‘s like SpaghettiOs with meatballs, macaroni and cheese, and canned vegetables. Please bring the donated items to the Gathering Space in the back of the church. Catholic Cemeteries Association continues with our free monthly in-office grief support groups on December 20 with limited seating for social distancing. We offer a comfortable, private, and safe environment where you are free to talk about your grief. Meetings do not build off each other so you can stop in any month and fit right in. You do not even have to talk but come and listen and be in the presence of those who understand. The December topic is “The Gift of God’s Presence: You Never Walk Alone” but discussions follow whatever is on your heart. December participants are asked to bring a picture or item that brings fond memories of their departed loved one. The Ozanam Center in Akron gives out around 800 coats every year. This year due to the pandemic we are not getting the donations we usually get, so we are asking for your help. Please bring in your winter coat donations to our parish office and we will take them to the Ozanam Center. The Ozanam Center is a special work of St. Vincent de Paul so all donations are tax deductible. Thanks in advance.

The Diocesan Center of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will celebrate the annual Mass on the Feast of Christ the King on Sunday November 22 at 11:30 am at The Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus, 3649 E. 65 St., Cleveland OH 44105. Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for individual prayer and praise to Jesus! Solemn vespers and closing of Eucharistic Adoration will be held at 4:00 pm with devotions, procession and Benediction. All are welcome to celebrate.
Homestead Hospice is sponsoring two community outreach projects in conjunction with Queen of Heaven Parish. The Notes of Hope project is to benefit chemo patients at various chemo locations in the area. We are we are asking for donations of word search, crossword puzzle, sudoku and adult coloring books along with handwritten notes of hope and inspiration. The Sweet Dreams project is to benefit boys and girls ages infant through 12 years. We are asking for new pajamas (with tags on please) and new books. You will find the donation boxes in the Queen of Heaven Gathering Place. These two projects are taking place now through the end of December and will bring joy/comfort to many that are facing difficult times. Thank you for your support.

Like so many events this year, the Christ Child Society of Akron’s 51st annual Red Wagon has gone virtual. We are celebrating 50 years in partnership with the Akron Public Schools in providing clothing to Akron’s children in need.
