Bishop Malesic will preside at this year’s Chrism Mass at the Cathedral. He will bless and consecrate the sacred oils that will be used throughout the diocese in sacramental celebrations during the coming year. Due to the ongoing pandemic, in-person attendance will be by invitation only. But all are encouraged to join in this most important diocesan liturgy by livestream.
The Adoration Chapel will be closed from the 7:00 p.m. Mass on Holy Thursday until Holy Saturday following the 8:30 p.m. Easter Vigil. Adoration will be available in the church only on Holy Thursday from the end of 7:00 p.m. Mass until 11:00 p.m. After 11:00 p.m. Adoration will not resume until the Triduum ends with the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord following the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil.

Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated at Queen of Heaven Parish on Sunday, April 11. The Prayer Service begins 2:30 pm with exposition of Blessed Sacrament. Although attendees will not be able to gather in person for the 2021 Catholic Men’s Conference, the virtual event will include all the hallmarks of previous conferences. The first session of the daylong program, presented by the Catholic Men’s Fellowship of Northeast Ohio, begins at 9 a.m. March 13 with prayer and reflection. The day will include a presentation by Peter Herbeck of Renewal Ministries on “A Call to Holiness.” Greg Wasinski of Let Me Be Ministries, will speak on the Eucharist and Deacon Larry Oney’s topic will be “Hope and Transformation.” Father Michael McCandless, director of the diocesan Vocation Office, will offer a Lenten reflection and Gary Zimak will discuss how to “Give up Worry for Lent.” Bishop Edward Malesic will address the conference in a pre-recorded message. Catholic Cemeteries Association continues with our free monthly in-office grief support groups on March 21st with limited seating for social distancing. We offer a comfortable, private, and safe environment where you are free to explore your grief. Meetings are open discussion format, surrounding a monthly topic or whatever is on your heart. They do not build off each other so you can stop in any month and fit right in. If you are not yet able to talk about your grief, come and listen and be in the presence of those who understand.
