Join St. Paul Parish for a fun and inspiring day of touring the Sacred Statues Museum in Lakewood, Ohio, with so many beautifully restored statues and other church items that conveys so much of the history of our Church. The tour will also include St. Stephen Church which was built in 1875 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977; simply stunning to see and appreciate. Catholic Cemeteries Association is looking for 15-20 energetic volunteers to help us make and distribute free sno-cones at this year’s FEST on Sunday, August 6, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe. Volunteers will work in 2-hour shifts crushing ice, putting ice in sno-cone cups, and pouring flavored syrups into the sno-cone cups. Volunteers will be free to enjoy the FESTivities after their assigned 2-hour shift or they can take a break and work another shift. A special election will take place in Ohio on August 8, 2023 to vote on Issue 1, which asks voters if Ohio should “Require that any proposed amendment to the Constitution of the State of Ohio receive the approval of at least 60 percent of eligible voters voting on the proposed amendment.” As our bishops remind us, "In the Catholic Tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation" Faithful Citizenship, No. 13. NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION - There is going to be an issue on the November ballot to change the Ohio constitution to PERMANENTLY read that abortion rights will be the law of the land in Ohio. Henceforth, there is going to be a separate SPECIAL ELECTION/VOTE (see above) on August 8, 2023, and if that issue passes, it will require a SUPER MAJORITY of 60% (to be reached in the November election).

Grief Recovery Workshops will be held at Saint Paul Parish, 1580 Brown Street, Akron, 44301, in the former school computer room. Ellen Barber, Certified Grief Specialist, Ignatian Spiritual Director, and Pastoral Minister will serve your needs concerning bereavement, spirituality, and grief due to ANY loss. One on Ones are being scheduled now for spring, summer and fall with Ellen Barber and Certified Grief Specialist, Ann Clark from St. Francis de Sales Parish. All are welcome. We are all grievers! The Workshop is Eight Sessions Total. On Tuesdays June 20 through Tuesday, at 3:30 pm and Saturday mornings 10:30 am, which completes the program being facilitated in four weeks.
