We are inviting children in 1st - 8th grade to join our Children’s Choir starting with the Christmas season! Children will be expected to lead and sing the music at the 4:00 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are in the church on the dates below: Tuesday 11/19 at 6:00-7:15 p.m.; Monday 11/25 at 6:00-7:15 p.m.; Tuesday 12/3 at 6:00-7:15 p.m.; Monday 12/9 at 6:00-7:15 p.m. (TBD because of Mass) Wednesday 12/18 at 6:45-7:45 p.m. Please click on the title to register on our parish website music ministry webpage. Please join our parish community for EXALT! Nights of Adoration, Praise & Worship, 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Church, on Thursdays, November 7 & December 5, 2024, and February 6 & March 6, 2025. Exalt is a night of worship that emphasizes prayer through music in the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Queen of Heaven’s Exalt includes healing with the Blessed Sacrament, quiet time, testimonials, scripture, and praise & worship music by PJ Chavez and Melanie Mesmer. All are welcome.

Treats with the Saints is an event for children of all ages. The event is sponsored by Queen of Heaven High School Youth Group, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Queen of Heaven Parish Pavilion Sunday, October 13, 9:30-10:30 a.m. All are welcome to breakfast and listen to our guest speaker, Seminarian John Paul Antalek, tell his vocation story.

On Sunday, September 8, from 9:15-10:45 a.m, Queen of Heaven Parish Spiritual Life Commission will be hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast in the pavilion to welcome all PSR students & their families. The breakfast is in between the two morning Masses. All parishioners are welcome to attend.

Queen of Heaven Society of St. Vincent de Paul is having a school supply donation drive the weekend of August 10 & 11. The items donated will be delivered to St. Augustine and St. Francis de Sales schools. Please drop off your items in the Gathering Space that weekend only. Any amount is greatly appreciated. PSR and High School Ministry registration is now open for the 2024-25 school year.PSR and High School Ministry begins on September 15. Clcik on the title to get to registration page. Deadline for registration is August 31, 2024. A late fee will be added to registrations after the deadline.

Fun Days for all ages in the community and parish will be on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There will be midway games, inflatable obstacle courses, a climbing rock wall, a basket raffle, and the NEW white elephant tent (give us an offer!). Also, a car raffle is being held for a new, equipped 2024 Kia Forte donated by the VanDevere Bunch. Raffle tickets at $20.00 each or six (6) for $100.00, are available in the parish office (cash, check or credit card) Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after weekend Masses, and at the Fun Days festivities. The drawing for the car will be on Saturday night, July 27 at 9:30 p.m. Winner does not have to be present. Food will be available both evenings. On Friday night (and Saturday night after the Boy Scout Troop Dinner) there will be burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc., grilled by the Venturing Crew scouting unit. On Saturday night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., there will be the famous Smoked BBQ Chicken and Pulled Pork Dinner catered by Boy Scout Troop 334 – presale adult dinners are $10.00 & children’s dinners are $8.00 until July 22; after that date, adult dinners are $12.00, and children’s dinners are $10.00. Both nights there also will be ice cream, popcorn, funnel cakes, fries, a beer truck, Kona Ice truck, and Travelin’ Tom’s coffee truck. The entertainment on Friday night will be a tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel given by Lee Alverson on the piano starting at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, the LaFlavour Band will keep everyone dancing from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Click on the title for more information.

The Demkee Family Scholarship Fund will award one $1,295.00 scholarship to a student enrolled at University of Akron or satellite. Applicants must be a parishioner at a Catholic parish in Wayne or Summit County and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Apply at www.catholiccommunity.org/grants. Applications are due by Wednesday, May 1, 2024, to The Catholic Community Foundation, and written notification will be released to the awardee by the end of May.

Join us for Queen of Heaven’s Vacation Bible School, June 24-28, 2024, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children entering grades K-5 will be invited to participate to dive under the sea to find a deeper friendship with God and each other. For it to be a successful week, we need both teen and adult volunteers. Online registration for campers, and adult and youth volunteers is now available on the parish VBS webpage at www.queenofheavenparish.org/vacation-bible-school. Boy Scout Troop 334 and Cub Scout Pack 3334 will be collecting ACME receipts this fall and winter from August 1, 2023 - February 15, 2024. We will earn 5% cash back from participating brands. We are asking all parishioners to save their ACME receipts and turn them into the envelope on the bulletin board in the Gathering Space to help us earn money for troop activities.
