Calling men of all ages – start off the new year by getting your prayer life fine-tuned. Join the Queen of Heaven/Nativity Men’s Group at the Queen of Heaven Parish Life Center every other Saturday after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Our meeting begins at 9:15 a.m. and will last until 10:30 a.m. Donuts and coffee will be provided! The next meeting is Saturday, January 6, 2024.
It’s something new for grandparents! If you are a grandmother or grandfather and would like to learn some practical tips and resources for connecting with your grandkids to help them carry on the Catholic Faith, please join us for the SS. Anne and Joachim Grandparenting Group at 6:30 p.m. on Fridays, October 27, November 17 & December 15, at St. Paul Parish, 1580 Brown Street, Akron, 44301 in the PAC (Parish Activity Center). Please join Queen of Heaven Parish as we welcome Trapper Jack back to speak about "Eucharist: A Challenging Truth to Swallow" on Tuesday, September 19, at 6:30 p.m. (1800 Steese Road, Uniontown). After 30 years away from the Catholic Church, it was the Blessed Mother who brought blind radio host, Trapper Jack, back. A series of miraculous encounters reignited his faith and now fuels his inspirational talks. Since departing secular radio, Trapper has used his microphone to share his faith through inspirational presentations, the Touched by Heaven podcast and Men's Morning Light on YouTube. Bethlehem Christian families wood carvers are coming to Queen of Heaven the weekend of September 19 & 20. They will display their wood carvings from the Holy Land after all Masses that weekend.
All Queen of Heaven parishioners are invited to attend a series of outdoor Eucharistic Holy Hours including praying the Rosary and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, at the various shrines and gardens around our parish grounds. Adoration is at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Monday, October 2 - St. Therese of Lisieux Memorial; Monday, September 25 - St. Francis Shrine; Monday, October 9 - Marian Shrine to the right of the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel; Monday, October 16 - Divine Mercy Shrine in the Woods; Monday, October 23 – Crucifixion at the 12th Outdoor Station of the Cross; Tuesday, October 24 – St. Joseph the Worker Shrine; Monday, October 30 – Sacred Heart Shrine; and Monday, November 6 – St. Dymphna Shrine.
We will be having volunteer sign-ups for FUN DAYS every weekend from July 8 & 9 through July 22 & 23 in the Gathering Space after all Masses. Please volunteer! Fun Days are Friday, July 28, and Saturday, July 29.

The Ozanam Center has been giving out enormous amounts of clothing this year. Due to the high volume, we have found ourselves without winter clothing already. If you would like to donate clothing, we would love to have it. We take donations during the time we are open, Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you can get them to us, we will help you offload them. The Ozanam Center in Akron located at the Visitation of Mary Church, 93 Kent Street, Akron, OH. Thank you in advance for helping us help our clients.
The Ozanam Center in Akron located at the Visitation of Mary Church, 93 Kent Street, Akron, OH, serves the people of our area with food and clothing through volunteers only. The center is only open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays except for holidays (volunteers come a half hour early). We are looking for more volunteers to help with distribution, especially sorting clothing and bringing it to the clothing room for people to pick. The next Queen of Heaven scheduled volunteer days at the Ozanam Center is Saturday, May 6, 2023, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Call the Queen of Heaven Parish Office at (330) 896-2345 if you can volunteer.
There will be a Lenten Mission follow-up discussion for all those who attended the mission on Saturday, March 18, after the 4:30 p.m. Mass (around 5:30 p.m.) in the Parish Life Center, rooms 1 & 2.
On the evenings of Sunday, March 5, Monday, March 6, and Tuesday, March 7, the gifted speaker, Father Martin Connor, L.C., will be giving a Lenten Mission at Queen of Heaven entitled, “Busy Families, Busy Faith: How to Keep God and Church at the Center of a Hectic Week.” Babysitting will be provided. On Sunday, March 5, a complimentary dinner for all families attending the mission will be in the Parish Life Center starting at 6:00 p.m. before the Mission. Please bring your old, dried palms from last year’s Palm Sunday to burn for use at Ash Wednesday Masses. Place them in the basket in the Gathering Space in the back of the church by Sunday, February 19. Thank you!
Catholic Renewal Ministries will host a Healing Mass on Friday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Church. Fr. Bob Franco will be the celebrant. The Queen of Heaven Music Ministry is open to all parishioners who have the desire to sing and worship the Lord. If you play a musical instrument or love to sing, and would like to use your talent for the Lord, Queen of Heaven Church has a place for you. The Music Ministry provides an avenue for you to share your gifts and be an integral part of the worship. Our choir practices are on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the church.
