Lenten Mission Follow-Up Discussion

There will be a Lenten Mission follow-up discussion for all those who attended the mission on Saturday, March 18, after the 4:30 p.m. Mass (around 5:30 p.m.) in the Parish Life Center, rooms 1 & 2.

9 Nights of Prayer - St. Paul, Akron

St. Paul’s has been chosen to be one of nine other parishes in the diocese to host Nine Nights of Night Prayer. Mark your calendars for March 17 - 25. Every night at 8 pm we will pray Sacred Compline, the Night Prayer of the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours. It will be prayer by candlelight and takes ten to fifteen minutes. There will be time after to socialize as well. This effort is focused on Evangelization. Perhaps you know family members who have fallen away from the Church or some non-catholic friends who honestly seek God and peace, or anyone we want to bring to Christ but maybe are not ready to join us for Mass. This is a great opportunity to expose them to the Church in a gentle way. Lent is a fine time to reach out to those seeking God. Parish Mission during Lent

On the evenings of Sunday, March 5, Monday, March 6, and Tuesday, March 7, the gifted speaker, Father Martin Connor, L.C., will be giving a Lenten Mission at Queen of Heaven entitled, “Busy Families, Busy Faith: How to Keep God and Church at the Center of a Hectic Week.” Babysitting will be provided. On Sunday, March 5, a complimentary dinner for all families attending the mission will be in the Parish Life Center starting at 6:00 p.m. before the Mission. Attention - We need your old palms!

Please bring your old, dried palms from last year’s Palm Sunday to burn for use at Ash Wednesday Masses. Place them in the basket in the Gathering Space in the back of the church by Sunday, February 19. Thank you!

Catholic Renewal Ministries Healing Mass at Queen of Heaven

Catholic Renewal Ministries will host a Healing Mass on Friday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Church. Fr. Bob Franco will be the celebrant. Join our parish community for one of the best fish fry dinners in the Diocese of Cleveland. Fridays, February 24 - March 31, 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center. 50th Annual March for Life 2023 - Bus Trip

A bus will leave Queen of Heaven Church on Thursday morning, January 19, 2023, for an overnight pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington D.C. We will return Friday night, January 20. The theme of the 50th annual march, titled “Next Steps: Marching in a Post-Roe America,” seeks to orient the national pro-life movement as it moves to dismantle abortion across all 50 states. We are celebrating the wonderful blessing of Roe v. Wade being overturned and a call to all pro-life people to work to build a culture of life in the United States of America. Society of St. Vincent de Paul Giving Tree

All gift cards for the Green Good Neighbors Giving Tree Program should be turned in this weekend (November 27). A box is under the Giving Tree in the Gathering Space to collect the gift cards. Queen of Heaven Society of St. Vincent de Paul thanks you for your generosity!

A Free Christmas Concert at Queen of Heaven

Lessons and Carols will be presented on Friday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. by P.J. Chavez and his friends. Hosted by the Holy Name Society. The service includes carols and scriptural readings; music will be sacred and secular.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration

Monday, December 12, 2022, 6:00 p.m. Mass and a Free Mexican Feast & Talk following Mass in the Parish Life Center. During the feast, brothers P.J. Chavez and Miguel Chavez will give a presentation about Our Lady of Guadalupe. P.J. Chavez is Director of Mission & Ministry for the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital and leads our parish in music at the 4:30 p.m. Saturday and the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses. Miguel Chavez is the Senior Vice President of Mission & Ministry for the Sisters of Charity Health System.

Queen of Heaven Advent Family Celebration

An Advent Family Celebration will be held in the Queen of Heaven Parish Life Center on Sunday, December 11 from 1-3 pm. There will be art, crafts, snacks, Santa’s Workshop, prayers, a live nativity with live animals and special visits by St. Nicholas and Santa. There is not a charge to attend, but donations for shut-ins will be accepted.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Blanket Sunday Collection

Blanket Sunday donations are still being collected. Funds from the appeal are used to purchase and distribute blankets and other bedding needs to homeless and low-income families in the greater Akron area. Blanket Sunday envelopes will be in the pews. Please make out checks to “Queen of Heaven SVDP” and place your envelope in with your regular parish donation this week or next week. True Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist Saturday, October 8, 2022, 1:00 - 7:30 p.m. NET Ministries dynamic retreat (for grades 6th-12th) will be in the PLC and the church, and includes Mass, Adoration & Confession. Cluster Parish Pilgrimage to Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, OH

Queen of Heaven Parish is hosting a cluster parish pilgrimage to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, Ohio, on Monday, August 22, in honor of our patronal feast day of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The cost of the trip is $25.00 per person which includes transportation to the shrine (Barons Bus), Mass, lunch, time for group and private devotion, and time at the shrine gift shop. We will depart at 9:15 a.m. from the Queen of Heaven parking lot and will arrive back at the church approximately 5:30 p.m. To reserve your seat please contact Queen of Heaven Parish Office at (330) 896-2345 or [email protected] Then mail or drop off your check (payable to “Queen of Heaven” and in the memo line “Shrine Trip”) to 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, OH 44685. PSR & Upper Room H.S. Registration - Now Open!

PSR and Upper Room student registration for the 2022-23 school year is available now on the parish website at https://www.queenofheavenparish.org/psr-and-upper-room-registration. Payment is required at the time of online registration. Please register your children soon. Registration closes on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Any registration after this date will incur a late fee of $25.00/family.
